Most people suffer from psychological problems that make it difficult to cope with the harsh conditions of life, and one of the most psychological problems is obsessive-compulsive disorder, in this article we will learn more about this mental illness and we will learn how to deal with people with obsessive-compulsive disorder: 

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a common disorder that has several types of obsessive hygiene, counting, strange thoughts, hoarding, rumination, all of these dangerous types affect the affected person, and make him a harmful person to himself and the people around him, as the person with OCD is an obsessive person with thoughts It is illogical, but they consider that these compulsive thoughts are important to them and help them reduce the severity of the situation and distress and in the same situation, they know that they must get rid of these thoughts because they hurt them and tire their mind. 
  • Causes of obsessive:
  • Environment. The environment plays an important role because the human being is the result of what he was brought up with and what he was raised in the midst, that is, it is the result of behavior that was acquired from the person’s environment.
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder is the result of a chemical substance present in the brain, as if serotonin is insufficient in the brain, then it results in equal disturbances.
  • It can also be hereditary.
  • Or even chemical changes in the body of a person with OCD.
  • Symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder:
  • Symptoms are related to the obsessive type:
  • Obsessive hygiene:

  2. Excessive cleaning, so that the person hurts his hands himself and prevents other people from being in his room and changing clothes unnecessarily.

  1. These people suffer from lack of control over thoughts, whether strange or future ideas, as they draw events according to their imagination and are afraid of upcoming events, and this is only unnecessary ideas and its symptoms:

  3. Anxiety about the future and fear of fulfilling their compulsive thoughts.

  • Obsessive counting:
  • These people count everything in their way hysterically and obsessively, and they choose a number they must finish, for example if they brush their teeth twice, they feel inferior and try to reach the numbers they always chose, and they even count peas, all of it and more.
  • There are countless types of OCD.
  • Treatments for OCD:
  • Drug treatment: where specialists give prescriptions to increase serotonon, as it is responsible for obsessive-compulsive disorder.
  • Psychological treatment: which is carried out by the psychiatrist, where first he educates the patient and his family to know how to deal with him, where the doctor explains to the patient what obsessive-compulsive disorder is and how to eliminate it and by following the necessary tests and treatment sessions, he will be cured, God willing.
  • How to deal with an obsessive-compulsive person:
  • Help him and find out more about how to make him feel safe and that his family supports him.
  • Educate and learn more about obsessive-compulsive disorder.
  • Direct him and try to make him relax.
